numero uno: we were asked to open a show at the casbah in san diego for the little ones and ra ra riot. how could we say no to a sweet line up like that? pretty awesome. it goes down april 5. 8pm @ the casbah in san diego.

2: blender magazine interviewed us at sxsw, and the video was posted. funny.



3: check out KCRW tonight (friday)! Jason Eldredge, a DJ at KCRW, will be playing us on KCRW this evening between 7:30 and 10:00PM PST.

not sure what he's going to be playing, maybe you can call in and request something?

4: hooooooooooooooooooooomannnnnnnnnnnnnnn plays "waiting for a war" as part of his latest music video. it was one of the most played videos on youtube the day it was put up. so crazy. hooooooman:

we just got back home from SXSW... very tiring, but lots of fun... will give a full update on sxsw soon, but here are a couple pieces of sweet news we got wind of today.

numero uno:

we got added to the sasquatch music festival in washington!! this is pretty amazing. i’ve always wanted to go to the gorge (the venue it’s hosted at) because it looked so beautiful, and now we get to go there and play! hell yeah. the cure is headlining the night we are playing, that’s kind of insane too. tons of great bands are going to be there, check the site for all of them:

we met and talked to an awesome dude named zane lowe after playing a show at sxsw. well... he was nice enough to play one of our songs ("i was wrong") on his radio show on radio 1. how cool is that? check his site here:

26 hours later and we're in austin, tx. so far the trip has been pretty good. we had a nice drive through the lovely state of new mexico and we also went through arizona but it's all kind of a blur now. ten minutes after getting into texas i was pulled over by a police officer for driving in the left lane and not passing other vehicles but instead sort of just chilling and driving. in texas you need to have a purpose for driving in the left lane and i agree with that and i like them for it. the officer saw i was from california and asked if our van was full of that crazy marijuana since you can get it like strawberry pie over there but i explained to him that we didn't have any and he liked me so we joked about drugs for a little bit and he gave me a warning. then we pulled into austin and crazy Tim shouted "Fuck you!" at these angry bro's and they chased the van so we locked the doors and they left us alone but one of their shirts said, "Trust me, it's big." Besides said angry incident everyone in austin has been really nice. Today we played waiting for a war and damnit Anna on NBC AUSTIN NEWs in between the weather reports and the governor sleeping with prostitutes and updates on sxsw. I've been drawing a lot lately, the first is a picture of julian driving the van and the second is a whale being held up by a kite.

Tomorrow we are leaving for Texas. We're all really excited and we feel a lot like this dog and cat.




We're going to be leaving from Berkeley, CA in our van Daryl and MAPQUEST says that it will take twenty-five hours. That sucks so we're going to San Diego, CA first to play a show with Port O Brien and Delta Spirit and visit our old friend Kari Nye and MAYBE go to some wild mexican border town. Then we're going to unwind in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico if we can find a place to stay but right now it's not looking good. Then we're going to go to Texas. In Texas we are going to play some shows at SOUTH BY SOUTH WEST and then we are going to come back home. But i'm at home right now in my kitchen.
